Letter of Instruction to Public Health and Administration Group

The Inquiry has published its letter of instruction to the Public Health and Administration expert group, convened by Professor Charles Vincent and Lord Michael Bichard

The expert group has been asked by the Inquiry for responses to a number of questions,  under the following headings:

 

  • General principles concerning public administration

  • General principles concerning public health

  • Government decision making and implementation in respect of health policy in the United Kingdom

  • Devolution within the United Kingdom

  • The role of patients and patient representative organisations in healthcare policy

  • The communication of risk in the provision of healthcare

  • The duty of candour, transparency, accountability and redress when mistakes are made

  • Record keeping

  • Priority treatment for those injured as a result of NHS treatment
