Professor of Psychology As Applied to Medicines
John Weinman is a Professor of Psychology As Applied To Medicines in the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences at Kings College London. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, the European Health Psychology Society and the Academy of Behavioural Medicine Research. He has played a major role in the development of academic and professional health psychology within the UK and Europe and is the founding editor of the International Journal: Psychology & Health.
The main focus of his research has been on the psychological impact of and behavioural adjustment to major physical health problems. In 2011, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and in 2018 he was made a Distinguished International Affiliate of the APA Society for Health Psychology.
